On Sunday, March 28, the Divisional Secretary’s auditorium in Vaharai was decorated with coconut leaves, a Tamil custom, for the big community cultural gathering that afternoon. A crowd had gathered, smartly dressed in saris, suits and flowers.

Through its Matara Media House, Internews organized a radio production training and broadcast program at Batapola Central College in western Galle.
The broadcast began on March 25 and will continue until March 29 with 12 students participating with an additional six young trainees from the Matara Media House.
